Twelve activities, chosen from tiles on the home screen: Counting, Math, Letters, English, Colors, Animals, Shapes, Thinking, Drawing, Coloring, Writing practice and Flashcards. All of them are in the free version.
Pick an activity from the home screen. For the Math round, the gear icon at the top right opens Settings, where Operations turns addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on or off individually.
For the Math round, Settings → Number range. Every number in a question, including the answer, stays between 1 and the value you pick (anywhere from 2 to 100).
Settings → Time per question allows 30 seconds to 5 minutes, and Pause between questions allows 5 to 60 seconds of thinking time before the next question is read out.
No. Voice answering is optional. Tap the microphone button to use it, or type on the on-screen keypad. You can decline the microphone permission entirely and the app still works completely.
The button appears only when speech recognition is available and permitted. On iPhone and iPad, check iOS Settings → MathChirp and make sure Microphone and Speech Recognition are enabled. On Android, check Settings → Apps → MathChirp → Permissions → Microphone. The keypad always works regardless.
The app uses the voices installed on your device. If your chosen language has no voice installed, add one in iOS Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, or on Android in Settings → Accessibility → Text-to-speech output. The question is always shown on screen as well.
The app gives 10 free plays each day, which refill the following day. If you want more before then, you can choose to watch a rewarded video for 5 extra plays, up to 50 stored. Watching is always optional.
Thirteen: English, Tiếng Việt, Español, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Português, Türkçe, Italiano, Français, Deutsch, Nederlands, 日本語 and 한국어. Settings → Language switches the on-screen text, the spoken questions and the speech recognition together, so they can never disagree.
Reading handwriting needs a recogniser of about 20 MB, downloaded once from Settings — Wi-Fi recommended. After that it reads handwriting with no internet at all, and nothing your child writes ever leaves the device.
MathChirp Plus is optional, monthly or yearly. It gives unlimited daily play and removes adverts, and on some devices it also lets the app write story problems and hints in the cloud rather than from built-in templates.
Every activity is in the free version — nothing your child learns is behind it, and running out of daily plays never locks the app. To cancel, use your Apple Account settings on iPhone and iPad, or Google Play on Android; we cannot cancel it for you.
Yes. Questions, the spoken prompts, the keypad, handwriting, scoring and results all work offline. Only the optional rewarded video and the optional cloud writing described above need a connection.
Everything the app saves — settings, language, play credits, practice progress, writing stars, collected words and saved pictures — is stored on the device only. Deleting the app removes all of it. We hold no personal data on any server. See the Privacy Policy.
