Aidic Privacy Policy

Aidic ("the app") is a vocabulary-learning app. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. It applies to the Android and iOS versions of the app.

Learning data stays on your device

Your saved words, review history, progress, goals, achievements, generated stories, readings and podcasts, and downloaded audio are stored locally on your device. Aidic does not sync them to any server. You can export a ZIP backup, restore it, or clear it at any time from Settings → Data management. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.

AI requests

When you use an AI feature (word explanations, quizzes, stories, readings, podcasts, conversation practice, text-to-speech or pronunciation feedback), the content of that request is sent to the AI provider that answers it:

• OpenAI (text, speech synthesis, and — only when you use pronunciation practice — a short recording of your voice for transcription),
• Anthropic, or
• Google (Gemini),

depending on which provider is configured. Requests contain the words and text needed for the task; they do not include your name or contact details. Each provider processes requests under its own privacy policy and API data terms.

If you use your own API key ("bring your own key"), the key is stored in the device's secure storage (Keychain / Android Keystore) and is sent only to that key's provider.

Optional account

Signing in (with Google or Apple) is optional. It is needed for AI managed by the app and for purchases. When you sign in, Google Firebase Authentication and Aidic's Firebase backend process:

• an account identifier and the email address supplied by the sign-in provider,
• your plan and purchase status (purchases are verified with Google Play or the App Store; Aidic never sees your payment details),
• AI usage counts, used to enforce your plan's allowance and prevent abuse.

Firebase App Check is used to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you hold the record button in pronunciation practice. The recording is sent for transcription as described above and is not stored by Aidic.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, review reminders are scheduled on your device. No notification content is sent to a server.

What Aidic does not do

• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
• No tracking across other apps or websites.

Data retention and deletion

Learning data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account data is kept while your account exists.

To delete your account, open Settings → Delete account in the app. This removes your sign-in account immediately. Words saved on your device are not affected. The plan and AI-usage records linked to the account on Aidic's server are erased when you email a deletion request to the address below; we complete it within 30 days. Children

Aidic is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Security

Data in transit to AI providers and Firebase is encrypted with HTTPS. API keys are kept in the platform's secure storage.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
